More about rdiff-backup here: http://www.nongnu.org/rdiff-backup/ NOTE: rdiffweb Regression uses /tmp folder to process data regression by default. For best results restoring large files/folders regressed many increments specify a tmp folder on a disk which has lots of unused space. Else you may get "not enough space on device" or similar errors. Following is a setup example that assumes you have pletty of unused space on /mnt/sda1, and that /mnt/sda1 is mounted at boot up. $ mkdir /mnt/sda1/tmp $ sudo cp /tmp/tcloop/rdiffweb/etc/rdiffweb/rdw.conf /etc/rdiffweb/ $ sudo nano /etc/rdiffweb/rdw.conf Find "#tempdir=/tmp" and replace it with "tempdir=/mnt/sda1/tmp" save and exit nano Now make changes permanent. $ sudo nano /opt/.filetool.lst add "etc/rdiffweb" save and exit nano $ filetool.sh -b You can control rdiffweb server with: $ sudo /etc/init.d/rdiffweb start $ sudo /etc/init.d/rdiffweb stop $ sudo /etc/init.d/rdiffweb restart If you want the rdiffweb server to start at boot up. $ sudo nano /opt/bootlocal.sh add "sudo /etc/init.d/rdiffweb start" save and exit nano Start a web browser and load http://localhost:8080/setup or http://ip-of-rdiffweb-pc:8080/setup for inital auto config.
