This chapter explains how to install the Jakarta XML Registries TCK software.
After installing the software according to the instructions in this chapter, proceed to Chapter 4, "Setup and Configuration," for instructions on configuring your test environment.
Each compatible implementation (CI) will provide instructions for obtaining their implementation. Eclipse GlassFish 5.1 is a compatible implementation which may be obtained from https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/ee4j.glassfish
Before you can run the XML Registries TCK tests, you must install and set up the following software components:
Java Web Services Developer Pack (WSDP) Registry Server, Version 2.0
Java SE 8
A CI for XML Registries 1.0, one example is Eclipse GlassFish 5.1
XML Registries TCK version 1.0, which includes:
JDOM 1.0
Apache Commons HTTP Client 3.1
Apache Commons Logging 1.1.1
Apache Commons Codec 1.3
Apache Ant 1.8.4
The XML Registries 1.0 Vendor Implementation (VI)
Follow these steps:
Install the Java SE 8 software, if it is not already installed.
Download and install the Java SE 8 software from
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html.
Refer to the installation instructions that accompany the software for
additional information.
Install the XML Registries TCK 1.0 software.
Copy or download the XML Registries TCK software to your
local system.
You can obtain the XML Registries TCK software from the
Jakarta EE site https://jakarta.ee/specifications/xml-registries/1.0/.
Use the unzip
command to extract the bundle in the directory of
your choice:
unzip jaxr-1_0-tck.zip
This creates the TCK directory. The TCK is the test suite home,
<TS_HOME>
.
Install a UDDI registry server. You may install the UDDI registry that comes with the Web Services Developer Pack, download the Web Services Developer Pack software from the Java Software web site and install Web Services Downloads. This installs the UDDI V2 registry. The username and password for the default account are “testuser” and “testuser.” See the installation instructions that accompany the software in this guide.
You will also need to create a second account. See the “Adding New Users to the Registry” section in the Java Web Services Tutorial (see the link above) for information about creating this account.
Install a XML Registries 1.0 Compatible
Implementation.
A Compatible Implementation is used to validate your initial
configuration and setup of the XML Registries TCK
1.0 tests, which are explained further in
Chapter 4, "Setup and Configuration."
The Compatible Implementations for XML Registries are listed on
the Jakarta EE Specifications web site: https://jakarta.ee/specifications/xml-registries/1.0/.
Install or get access to a UDDI V2-compliant registry.
To use a UDDI V2 registry from IBM or Microsoft, you need to go to
their sites and register. When you register, you will get your own
username and password.
To get a username to use with the IBM registry, go to
http://www.ibm.com/services/uddi and click on the beta v2 register
button. Scroll down and you will see a place to get a username and
password.
To get a username for the Microsoft UDDI registry, go to http://
uddi.rte.microsoft.com and click register. You need to use Internet
Explorer V5.0 or higher as your browser for this procedure.
When you modify the ts.jte file, as described in Section 4.2, you need
to specify the publish and query urls for the registry that you will be
using.
Install the XML Registries VI to be tested.
Follow the installation instructions for the particular VI under test.
